Tamara Laing’s class is based on Hugh Nibley, PhD’s series of 13 articles on Enoch in the Ensign 1976-77. She loves that Pres. Russell M. Nelson told us to learn about Jesus Christ’s “restored gospel of healing” (April 2023 Gen. Conf).
“Modern man … is almost oblivious to the greater truth that man himself is a divinely organized mechanism capable of being purified, refined, and matured in the acquisition of divine truth and power to the point that he can partake of the glory of God.” (Hyrum Andrus, Principles of Perfection)
Learn hints and stories that will validate or perhaps, surprise you - and a little bit of science, too. Tamara was surprised to learn that the book of Enoch was “ handed down through the centuries with the avowed intention of bringing comfort to the persecuted saints in every dispensation.” (Hugh Nibley, “A Strange Thing in the Land: The Return of the Book of Enoch, Part 2) We could all use more of that!
